MONTEITH'S BEER & WILD FOOD CHALLENGE
The "Monteith’s Wild Food Challenge" is a new series that will air weekly on TV One from this Thursday (6th October) at 9.30pm for 8 weeks.
The series reveals New Zealand’s ‘wilder side’ of cooking and follows the antics of two chefs, Englishman Mark Southon and Kiwi Wylie Dean, as they embark on a road trip of New Zealand, sampling entrants’ wild food dishes and beer matches in the 14th annual Monteith’s restaurant competition.
The light-hearted series follows the lads as they travel from the deep south to north, visiting chefs and locals in Greymouth, Geraldine, Christchurch, Wellington, Waiararapa, Hawkes Bay, Taupo, Waihi Beach, Coromandel, Hamilton, Matamata , Clevedon, Huapai and finally Auckland.
If you’re a chef who thinks you have what it takes, or an outlet that regards themselves as a leader in the industry, please express your interest in taking part in the 15th annual Monteith’s Beer & Wild Food Challenge here. We will contact you early next year to let you know when the registration process is open so you can start preparing your wild dish and Monteith’s beer match.
WELCOME TO THE MONTEITH’S BEER & WILD FOOD CHALLENGE
The Monteith’s Beer & Wild Food Challenge is back by popular demand for its 14th year!
A prestigious national challenge amongst restaurants, bars and cafes competing against one another to create New Zealand’s ultimate wild food dish matched perfectly to a Monteith’s beer.
We are also inviting the New Zealand public to once again show us their wild side and submit their own recipes into the 2011 Monteith’s Wild Recipe Competition.
Expert Judging and Public Voting for the Monteith’s Beer & Wild Food Challenge is from 3rd June to 3rd July 2011, during which time the public can experience and vote on the wild food dishes at participating restaurants and bars. Each person who votes by text will receive a voucher to their mobile phone for a complimentary Monteith’s redeemable at that restaurant or bar.
Once the top 2 ‘People’s Choice’ finalists and 5x ‘Expert Judging’ finalists have been chosen, the finalists will compete in the hotly contested live “Cook Off”final in Auckland on 8th August, 2011.
The winning restaurant or bar takes home the title of National Winner Monteith’s Beer & Wild Food Challenge, along with a cash prize of $10,000!
Show your sense of adventure and head to a participating Monteith’s Beer and Wild Food Challenge restaurant, café or bar near you.
